Anghiari Festival sospeso, Piero Calli: “Se ci saranno le condizioni, versione ridotta in autunno”

Buongiorno a Tutti,

visto il perdurare della situazione di emergenza  legata alla Covid-19 con le consecutive restrizioni imposte, sia in Italia che in Inghilterra, l’Associazione Pro Loco di Anghiari dopo vari contatti e scambi di opinioni con il Direttore Artistico dell’Anghiari Festival, Simon Over, e sentito il parere di alcuni Sponsor e Sostenitori (sia Italiani che Inglesi)  è dovuta giungere alla dolorosa conclusione che quest’anno il Festival non si potrà svolgere nelle date prestabilite.

Con il Maestro Simon abbiamo pensato però non di annullare ma bensì di “sospendere”  la Manifestazione immaginando, se ci saranno i presupposti, di rimandarla al periodo autunnale (magari in versione ridotta).

Questo per non arrenderci incondizionatamente al Virus e dare un po’ di speranza e serenità ai nostri concittadini che, come in tutta Italia, stanno soffrendo questi mesi di “clausura”, convinti che alla fine insieme CE LA FAREMO!

Di seguito il testo della lettera che ci ha inviato il nostro caro e stimato amico, nonché Direttore Artistico e Musicale del Festival, Simon Over

Greetings, everyone,

Given the persisting emergency situation of Covid-19 and the consecutive restrictions imposed, both in Italy and in England, the Pro Loco Association of Anghiari, after various contacts and exchanges of views with the Artistic Director of the Anghiari Festival,  Simon Over, and after hearing the opinion of some Sponsors and Supporters (both Italian and English) had to reach the painful conclusion that this year the Festival will not take place on the scheduled dates.

In agreement with Master Simon, however, we thought not to cancel but to “suspend” the Festival imagining, if the conditions are right, to postpone it to the autumn period (maybe in a reduced version).

This in order not to surrender unconditionally to the Virus and to give some hope and serenity to our fellow-citizens who, as in all Italy, are suffering these months of “seclusion”, convinced that in the end together WE WILL MAKE IT!

Below is the text of the letter sent us by our dear and esteemed friend, as well as Artistic and Musical Director of the Festival, Simon Over.

MESSAGGIO DAL DIRETTORE ARTISTICO E MUSICALE DELL’ANGHIARI FESTIVAL

 SIMON OVER:

Cari Amici,

con gran dispiacere, a malincuore, è mio dovere informarVi che quest’anno l’Anghiari Festival non si terrà. Abbiamo sperato fino all’ultimo che ci sarebbe stato modo di incontrarsi nella nostra cara Anghiari a Luglio, ma purtroppo ad oggi è chiaro che questo non sarà possibile. Questa decisione è stata presa in stretta consultazione con i colleghi di Anghiari e di Londra, e sono sicuro che capirete bene che la situazione è fuori dalla nostra portata. Spero con tutto il cuore che riuscirete ad essere con noi nel 2021. Vi faremo sapere le date prima possibile.

UPDATE FROM FESTIVAL DIRECTOR SIMON OVER

Dear friends,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I must inform you that the Anghiari Festival will not be taking place this year.

We kept hoping there would be a way for us to meet in our treasured Anghiari this July but it is now clear that this will not be possible. This decision has been made in close consultation with colleagues in Anghiari and London and I am sure you will understand that matters are out of our hands.

We do hope you’ll be able to be with us in 2021. We’ll let you know as soon as we have a date.
